REHABILITATION PROJECT
PROJECT SPECIFICS
Proposed Improvements Along East 140th Street Include:

St. Clair to I-90: Narrow and rehabilitate road by resurfacing pavement and reconstruction of drainage facilities
-
I-90 to Lakeshore: Road width remains the same; rehabilitate road by resurfacing pavement and reconstruction of drainage facilities
-
Replacing non-compliant ADA ramps and curbs, sidewalks, and drive aprons as needed
-
Waterline replacement from St. Clair to Topeka and North Waterloo to Westropp
-
Waterline Service connections replaced from St. Clair to Westropp
-
Signing and pavement marking upgrades include bike lanes between Coit Road and North Waterloo Road and sharrows south of Coit Road and north of North Waterloo Road (for additional information, see the Lane Configuration tab)

Improved pedestrian crossings including installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) and ladder style crosswalks at Nell and Argus

Removal of flashing signal at Nell and removal of traffic signals at Argus and Jenne

Replacement of approach railing and curb on both sides of the CSX Bridge

Patching structural curb under the CSX bridge while maintaining the existing railing
-
Streetscape enhancement, including tree lawns, bike racks, benches, trash receptacles, trees, and Gateway Features

Public Art – Mural north of the CSX Bridge
